Basics
Thank you for joining us on the Alternative Play Podcast. Please fill in the survey below to make the most of our recording time. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
We'll send you a link within 20-30 minutes before recording; all you need to do is click on it to enter the discussion. It is essential to make sure you have a working mic and headphones.
Time: The time will be scheduled at least one week before the recording date - East Coast time, USA - Please click on the link sent to you within 15 minutes of the recording so that we can make sure to establish a solid connection with you before we start. That way, we aren't trying to resolve connection issues while recording.
Medium: We use Melon App to capture our recordings. The browser-based software will record to the cloud and locally. This allows us to record not only a single track recording but also individual tracks to make editing easier. If we are using Zencastr (another recording platform), we suggest logging on to Zencastr and setting up an account. This way, you can ensure that you have your settings done before the show's day. The account is free and pretty easy to use. You can go directly to Zencastr HERE.
Browser: Chrome and Firefox are the only 100% reliable browsers that work every time. Explorer, Edge, and Safari are not supported.
Smart Phones and Tablets: Currently, Zencastr is not supported by mobile platforms.
Live Stream: If we are using Melon App, we have the opportunity to live stream the content. You are not required to be on camera if this is a live stream. However, whichever image you have selected for your thumbnail will show on the stream. You will be informed if the interview or content will be live streamed.
Requirements: This is an audio podcast. You will need a microphone and a PC capable of supporting the newer versions of Chrome or Firefox, and if possible, please use headphones as it reduces echo. Hook in via LAN rather than WiFi if you can. WiFi is doable but is often sketchy.
Format
Intro Segment: JayCee will do an opening intro. When your name is announced, please say hello so the people know you are there. JayCee will read your provided bio.
Interview (30-45 min): This is where we talk about you and your work. We usually start the show out by talking a little bit about you, your likes, hobbies and how long you have been in the lifestyle, and your geek cred. Then we will move on to the gaming-related topics, talk about your contribution to the gaming industry, how it crosses over into the world of kink, and what impact it has. This makes the show more conversational than an interview, makes you more relatable and endears you more to the audience.
End Credits: At the show's end, we will allow you to plug away with all of your promotional links and/or announcements. I'll have these from your survey and will announce them but feel free to chime in with more or add details.

If you want to share any files or images with us that will make your interview better, please feel free to send them to Host@alternative-play.com BEFORE the day of your appearance.
Files: If you have a game or an ebook you'd like to share with us, we'll go through it to talk about the product better. Please send this ASAP because we will go through it, but we need time.
